User Data Deletion

Effective Date: September 17, 2026

1. Overview

TerryTrilla LLC ("TerryTrilla," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and your right to control your personal data. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable data protection laws, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time.

This page explains how to delete your data and what happens when you do.

2. What Data We Store

When you use TerryTrilla, we may collect and store the following categories of data:

  • Account information: name, email address, profile photo
  • Authentication data: hashed password, OAuth provider tokens (e.g., Facebook, Google, GitHub), passkeys, two-factor authentication settings
  • Learning data: saved presets, scale/chord usage statistics, widget configurations, learning progress
  • Subscription data: plan type, billing history (processed by Stripe)
  • Usage analytics: session data, widget events, device information
  • Communications: support messages, AI conversation history

3. How to Delete Your Data

Option A: Self-Service Deletion (Recommended)

If you have a TerryTrilla account, you can delete your account and all associated data directly:

  1. Log in to your account at https://terrytrilla.com
  2. Go to Settings > Account
  3. Click Delete Account
  4. Confirm by entering your password and typing the confirmation text
  5. Your account and associated data are deleted immediately, except the records listed under "Anonymized" and "Retained" in Section 4

Option B: Email Request

If you cannot access your account or prefer to submit a written request, send an email to:

Please include:

  • The email address associated with your TerryTrilla account
  • Your full name (as registered)
  • A statement requesting deletion of your data

We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days (EU/EEA residents) or 45 days (California residents).

4. What Happens When You Delete Your Data

When your account is deleted, the following actions are taken immediately. There is no waiting period, and a deleted account cannot be restored.

Deleted:

  • Account credentials and profile information
  • Authentication tokens and linked social accounts (Facebook, Google, GitHub)
  • Saved works, compositions and publications in the Gallery
  • Saved presets and widget configurations
  • Learning progress and usage statistics
  • AI conversation history and command logs
  • Organization and group memberships
  • Teacher-student relationships
  • Widget assemblies you created
  • Active sessions and trusted devices
  • Two-factor authentication settings and backup codes

Anonymized (the link to you is removed):

  • Email delivery logs (your email address is replaced)
  • Error logs
  • Website and mobile app usage events
  • Subscription events (kept for accounting)

Retained:

  • Financial transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years where tax law requires it, by our payment processors (Stripe, Apple, Google)
  • Records of your email consent and opt-out choices, including your email address — to demonstrate consent and to keep honoring a request not to receive emails
  • Security audit log entries, including the record of the deletion itself and the email address of the deleted account — kept for 12 months, then deleted
  • If you used our community forum, your forum account is anonymized: your posts remain under an anonymous name, and your email address, name, profile photo and account identifier are removed from it. If you never posted, the forum account is deleted entirely. See Section 7.5 of our Privacy Policy

5. Data Deletion for Facebook Login Users

If you signed up or logged in using Facebook, you can disconnect TerryTrilla from your Facebook account:

  1. Go to your Facebook Settings > Security and Login > Apps and Websites
  2. Find TerryTrilla and click Remove
  3. This revokes our access to your Facebook data

To also delete your data stored on TerryTrilla, please follow the deletion steps in Section 3 above.

Alternatively, you can submit a deletion request directly via email at [email protected].

6. Data Portability

Before deleting your account, you may request a copy of your personal data in a machine-readable format (JSON). To request a data export, contact [email protected].

7. Third-Party Data

Deleting your TerryTrilla account does not automatically delete data held by third-party services (e.g., Stripe for payments, Facebook for authentication). Please contact those services directly to manage your data with them.
